Getting Started

Welcome to Hypixel Skyblock! This mode is completely separate from regular Minecraft and requires starting fresh. Here's what you need to know:

First Steps

  • Join the Skyblock gamemode via the main lobby menu in Hypixel
  • Create your island - This is your personal workspace where you'll build, farm, and store items
  • Complete the initial dialogue with the NPCs to understand basic mechanics
  • Don't panic about starting poor - Everyone starts with minimal resources; this is intentional

Your First Hour

Focus on these activities:

  • Gather wood from trees on your island using an axe
  • Build a workbench to craft items (recipe is 3x3 wooden planks)
  • Create a crafting table (4 planks in a 2x2 square)
  • Get stone tools to mine the stone blocks on your island
  • Craft a wooden pickaxe to mine coal ore

Skyblock features a comprehensive quest system that rewards you for completing various tasks. Check your quests regularly!

Starting with Farming

Farming is one of the best early-game income sources. It's AFK-friendly and requires minimal investment to get started.

Sugar Cane Farm Setup

Cost: ~5,000 coins | Daily Income: 8,000-15,000 coins (AFK)

How to Build It:

  1. Buy sugar cane seeds from the NPC shop (25 coins each)
  2. Clear a flat area (10x10 recommended for beginners)
  3. Fill with hydrated farmland (right-click grass blocks with a hoe while standing on water)
  4. Plant sugar cane seeds in rows
  5. Place a water channel through the middle for automatic hydration
  6. Wait for crops to mature (3 growth stages)
  7. Return to harvest and replant

Wheat Farm (Alternative)

Similar to sugar cane but yields more blocks per plant. Setup is identical.

Farming Tips

  • Always replant after harvesting - don't leave empty farmland
  • Buy "Replenish" enchant when you can afford it to auto-replant
